THE COURSE

The Ivey Ranch Country Club Golf course, designed by the legendary William F. Bell Jr., opened in 1985. It features a variety of obstacles designed to keep you on your toes. This is also a great course for novices and children as it is easily adaptable to meet their needs.

This alluring course boasts 2,656 yards from the longest tees, a par of 35, rating of 33.2 and a slope of 102. This course offers the simple luxury that a game of golf should be. PRACTICE FACILITY

If you want to take a few swings off your handicap, the practice facility is the perfect place for you. A full grass, 20 tee driving range is available to help you work on your long game. If you need short game work, a large putting and chipping greens plus practice bunker can be utilized. Buckets of balls start at five dollars and are available from the pro shop.

THE COURSE

Industrial Hills Golf Course at the Pacific Palms Resort is one of California’s most noteworthy public golf courses. It is also a historical landmark as many of golf’s greatest names have played on this industrial course. The course, which is actually two courses, has been recently upgraded and fully modernized.

The first course, known fondly as “The Ike” was a collaboration between William F. Bell and Casey O’Callaghan. Golfers from around the world are attracted to this 7,211 yard course with a par of 72. The rating is an impressive 75.1 and the slope is a stunning 142. It contains a multitude of natural obstacles making this course as challenging as it is pretty.

The second course, known as “The Babe” is named after Babe Didrikson Zaharias. Zaharias is one of Americans most decorated athletes of all-time. Designed by the same architects that brought American “The Ike”, this course is a modest 6,826 yards and has a par of 71. The rating is a 73.9 and the the slope is a 135.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If you need to take a few swings off your handicap, the Industry Hills Golf Club offers a full range of practice facilities. The driving range is bi-level and night light. They have a variety of target greens to help you improve your long game. The short game area is even more impressive. Two bunkers, two greens, a rough and four putting areas will have you getting a birdie in no time. Looking out over the course and the San Gabriel Mountains will make this experience even more impressive.

THE COURSE

The city of Indio’s Municipal Golf Course offers one of the longest par 3 golf courses in the country ranging from 120 to 240 yards. The course was constructed in 1965 by the City of Indio on approximately 46 acres.

This course features several unique things. The course has many mature trees, sand traps and other obstacles. There is also a natural lake located between the 9th hole and 18th hole. These holes are also considered the signature holes of this course. The course is 3,004 yards long and has a par of 27. The course is now fully lighted.

THE COURSE

At Indian Wells Golf Resort, the courses come first. They are the center of the experience. In fact, they are so loved that GolfWeek consistently ranks it in their top courses. The resort has two full courses for a total of 36 holes.

The first course, known as the the Celebrity Course was designed by Clive Clark. This much anticipated course opened in November of 2006 to rave reviews. It features undulating fairways plus a number of flowing waterways. You will especially appreciate the split level lakes that are connected by striking waterfalls. This course is 7,050 yards long and has a par of 72. The slope is a 138 and it has earned a rating of 74.2.

The second course, designed by John Fought, is the players course. It opened in November of 2007. It has a classic American feel complete with sculpted bunkers. One unique feature of this course is the way that Fought integrated many of the stately trees found on the original property. This gave the course a unique, older feel with all of the modern amenities. This course is an impressive 7,376 yards long and sports a par of 72. It is rated at a 75.3 and has a slope of 139.

This course sports a par of 70. It is 6,104 yards to the longest tee and it has a slope of 129. The rating is also a 70. Hole 9, a 451 par 5, is said by many to be the toughest hole on this course.

THE COURSE

Indian Palms golf course is the center of the resort. With a total of 27 holes, it presents a unique experience. The three 9-hole courses provide golfers with tests on their accuracy instead of their distance. Each course is uniquely designed, creating a unique challenge to golfers of every level. Bunkers are placed strategically throughout and water comes into play on 15 of the 27 holes. Any two of the nine hole courses can be combined to make one 18 hole course.

The first course, known as “The Mountain” features dramatic elevation changes and wide open fairways. The 3,361 yard course boasts a par of 36. This course includes Indian Palms’ signature hole. The 301 yard par 4 5th Hole features their island green.

The Royal course has hundreds of mature trees lining its fairways. It works within its surroundings to create an experience that isn’t soon forgotten. It is a 3,352 yard course with a par of 36.

The Indian Course is different than the other two. It has more water and a variety of obstacles. This course is best paired with the Mountain. It has a par of 36 and is 3,348 yards to the longest tee.

THE COURSE

Indian Canyons Golf resort is made up of not one but two full size, championship quality golf courses. It was formerly a private club known as Canyon Country club but today, its doors are open to the masses. You can walk on the same fairways as such names as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Jackie Gleason. Several former presidents also played these courses.

The first course designed by William F. Bell, Jr. is a classic course. This course is surrounded on three sides by the San Jacinto Mountains making it a wind free experience and the favorite of many golfers. The water hazard between the ninth and 18th holes contains the famed “Disney Fountain” which was donated by Walt Disney himself on the club’s opening.

The second, designed by Casey O’Callahan with the help of player consultant and LPGA legend Amy Alcott is more of a modern course and a favorite of female golfers. The course has over 800 palm trees, 500 Washingtonia Filifera and 4 ponds. Players will enjoy the elevation changes celebrated throughout this course. Also, players will be challenged by the five par 5 holes contained therein.

The North Course is 6,943 yards to the longest tee and has a par of 72. The rating is a 72.9 and the slope is a 127. The South Course is 6,582 yards long, making it the shorter of the two. It also has a par of 72. The rating is 70.4 and the slope is 118.

THE COURSE

The property on which Hidden Valley Golf Course is seated is beyond lovely. The course works to preserve that beauty. From dry stream beds to boulder outcroppings, this is one of the most breath-taking golf experiences in Southern California. The golfer is challenged to carry their ball over canyons and ravines around the whole of this course.

This 6,860 yard course has a par of 72 but that doesn’t tell the whole story. The slope is an impressive 141 and the rating is a 73.8. Their signature hole, known as “Red Tail Launch”, is the 15th. With dramatic elevation changes and jutting rock formations, this is an awe-inspiring hole. Another cool feature of this course is the wildlife that often cross the fairways and greens.

THE COURSE

Hesperia golf and country club is a semi-private club in the high desert region of California. This course, a former stop on the PGA tour, is lined with trees and offers players luxurious fairways and classic holes to conquer. It was designed by famed golf architect William F. Bell, Jr. and opened its doors in 1957.

This 6,996 yard course has a par of 72 and a rating of 73.3. The slope is rated at 131. A record score of 62 was set by Gene Littler. This course holds many unique challenges for every golfer. Hesperia is well-known for its long, difficult par four for the second, ninth, 11th and 18th holes. Each of these has a number of obstacles for the golfer to conquer.
