THE COURSE

Nestled in the midst of the Jacinto mountains in the stunning Hemet Valley, Hemet Golf club is truly a beauty. The course, designed by Brian Curley and Lee E. Schmidt, is as much fun to play as it is to look at. Since 2003, this course has attracted people from near and far to discover one of the country’s best kept secrets.

With a par of 71, a slope of 120 and a rating of 71, this 6,590 yard course offers golfers a unique challenge. The course begins with a double dog leg on a difficult par 5 to challenge players. The game offers even more twists and turns on the fifth, ninth, 16th and 17thholes. The fourth hole is one of the shortest championship level holes in the area.

Clubhouse

If you find yourself hungry or thirsty after a round of golf, the clubhouse is the place for you. They offer a full-service restaurant with variety of sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers and other foods. Beer, soda and other beverages are also available. The beautiful patio overlooks the practice facility and the beautiful mountain scenery.

The clubhouse at Hemet Golf Club is well-suited for any occasion. The 4,995 square foot Clubhouse offers indoor dining for 110 guests and patio dining is also available. The Bonanza room seats an additional 32 people. It provides the perfect venue for luncheons and other small events.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If you’d like to take a few swings off your handicap, the practice facility at Hemet Golf Club is just the thing. The beautiful, all grass driving range has multiple target greens. They also have putting greens and separate chipping greens with practice bunkers. Buckets of balls are available for a nominal cost from the pro shop.

THE COURSE

Heritage Palms is a semi-private golf course located in Indio California. It was designed by Arthur Mills and opened in 1996. The immaculately kept greens and amazing scenery add up to a fantastic experience.

This 6,727 yard course has a par of 72. It features a slope of 119 and a rating of 71.4. Each of the 18 holes has a unique challenge. The course has many out-of-bounds areas and water hazards so extra balls are a must. The fourth, seventh and 17th holes provide unique challenges for even the best golfers. The course has several lakes, green bunkers and other obstacles.

GREEN FEES

To experience the amazing golf game available at Heritage Palms golf club, book your tee time today. There are several ways to do this. The first option is the unlimited option. This costs $3,200 per person or $6,000 per couple. The second option is the coupon book. Coupons for 50 rounds of golf are sold for $2,575. The third option, detailed below, is the pay as you go option.

When playing at Heritage Palms, proper golf attire etiquette is required at all times. All food and beverages must be purchased on the premises. Carts may only be driven on mark paths and on fairways.

THE COURSE

William F. Bell, designer of over 160 golf courses nationwide, conceptualized and brought to life this amazing course in 1962. Since then, it has been the pride of the area and a favorite of golfers who need to get in a quick game between engagements. The course is fully lit allowing golfers to play from before sunrise until well after sunset.

The course may be small, at only 2,143 yards, but it is also mighty. It sports a par of 54 and a rating of 50.1. The slope is a 90. It features a sand bunker and water hazards on the 14th and 18th holes.

THE COURSE

TPC Harding Park is a municipal golf course located in San Francisco. It was named after former president and avid golfer Warren G. Harding. The course was designed and built by master architect Willie Watson of Olympic Club fame before it opened in 1925. Since then, it has frequently hosted PGA tours. It was fully renovated in 2000. In 2010, it was added to the list of clubs that host PGA tours known as TPC or The Players Championship clubs.

The course is lined with cypress trees and set against the backdrop of Lake Merced. It features soft bunkers and well-manicured fairways. The course is constantly maintained in the championship quality players have grown to love.

This course spans 7,169 yards. It features a par of 73 with a rating of 73.1. The slope is a 125. The signature hole is the 18th. With a par of 5 and a handicap of 2, this hole has a loud bark and an even bigger bite. Avoid the bunker in the fairway to finish your day off right. Holes four, six, eight, 11 and 12 also provide special challenges.

Famed golf architect William F. Bell designed and built this 9 hole course in 1958. In 1994, it received a complete renovation. Located in the Los Angeles harbor area of Wilmington, California, this course features the beautiful sites of the area. It is a great course for squeezing a quick round of golf into an otherwise bust week.

At only 3,148 yards, this a course that is easily walked. It has a par of 36 and a rating of 69.8. It is considered one of the most used 9 hole courses in the country.

Tregnan School

For young people with little experience, the city of Los Angeles and Harbor Park golf course is pleased to offer the Tregnan Golf Academy. This school reaches out to urban families and offers children, ages five to 17, a chance to learn the game of golf and improve their golf game. This school also offers a variety of other programs including family golf, seminars and junior tournaments. Participants in this program get reduced golf fees at all Southern California public golf courses.

The Tregnan Golf Academy is entirely funded by grants. They are constantly looking for corporate sponsors, volunteers and others to help. Donations of golf equipment are always accepted. To help, call the course.

THE COURSE

Haggin Oaks Golf Complex is made up of not one but two full size, championship quality golf courses. This 75 year old course has stood the test of time as offering both friendly courses that entice beginning golfers into a lifetime love of the game and conversely challenging courses that keep the pros coming back again and again. It’s no wonder that big names in the golf world like Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen as well as big names in Hollywood like Bing Crosby, Babe Ruth and even Bob Hope have all frequented this course. Now it is your turn to experience the luxury of Haggin Oaks as they did.

The first course, Arcade Creek, is designed with the beginning golfer in mind. The course is a relatively flat and has the option to play the front nine or the entire 18 holes, making it appealing for both beginners and walkers alike. The beautiful Arcade Creek runs through this tranquil course surrounded by lush greens and lined with heritage oaks giving the golfer and peaceful escape from the concrete jungle.

The second course, designed by world renowned architect Alister MacKenzie, is for the more advanced golfer. At first glance this course may seem small and tame by today’s standards, with little water and no fairway bunkers, but don’t let that fool you. The greens are so heavily bunkered they require shots to be precise in order to gain the best score. This is especially true of the signature par three number 16. This hole is shadowed by a impressive oak on the right side and Arcade Creek is on the left and back of the green. Hole 17 is just as daunting. As they say with great risk comes great reward. Those who have completed this challenging course have said bringing it home on 18 is like bringing it home on the PGA tour.

In addition to all of this, the store also has the usual pro shop amenities. If you can’t find what you’re looking for ask one of the helpful staffers. If they can’t find it, which is unlikely considering the store, they will order it for you.

Restaurants

Haggin Oaks is home to MacKenzie’s Sports Bar and Grill. The fare is fresh and reminiscent of homemade food from a simpler time. The décor celebrates Haggin Oaks’ rich 75 year history. They serve a full breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a full bar.

Built in 1962, the Green River Golf Course was designed by Cary Bickler. The “Riverside” course features 6383 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 68.7, and the slope rating is 117 on Bermuda grass. CourseCo manages the Green River Golf Course with Judy Saguchi as the General Manager.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If your game is a little rusty, or you need to fine tune your shots and putts, visit the practice facility. The Green River Golf Club has a full service practice facility. A driving range is available to help work on your long game. A 15,000 square foot putting green is available to help work on your short game. A sand bunker completes the practice facility.

If more help is needed, lessons are also offered. PGA certified instructors work with students individually or in groups to improve the necessary skills. Depending on the starting point, the skills covered could include rules of the game, swing basics, putting, driving and on course game skills. Seminars, clinics and other classes are also offered on a semi regular basis.

THE COURSE

The Golf Club at Terra Lago was host of the 1999-2002 PGA Tour Skins Game. The club played host to pro golfers such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Greg Norman, and Fred Couples, among others. The course features 36 challenging holes in a North Course and South Course. The course offers changes of scenery, elevation, and a beautiful and challenging island green.

Both the north and south courses are par 72 courses. The Golf Club at Terra Lago twists and turns through the Indio Chocolate Mountain foothills. The course is truly a unique experience.

The Clubhouse at Terra Lago has one of the most spectacular mountain views you will find in the Coachella Valley. Enjoy the scenery through the plate glass windows in the main dining room. They carry all of the typical golf fare plus a wide variety of beer, wine and spirits.

THE COURSE

The General Old Golf Course, located at March Air reserve Base, opened in 1955 as a private military course. Since 1996, the course has been open to the public. Any military personnel, active or retired, are offered a discount. General Old golf Course is one of the best maintained courses in Riverside.

The General Old Golf Course has a par of 72 and a rating of 71.4. The slope rating is 120. The course is managed by Donovan Brothers Golf inc.

As you spend your day at the General Old golf Course, come visit the newly remodeled Afterburner Grill. You can start your day with a complete breakfast or end it with a salad, sandwich, or wrap. Thursday is one of the Afterburner Grill’s most popular days, as it’s been officially named Tostada Day at General Old Golf Course. A full bar and daily specials mean that no matter what your craving, they can provide.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If your game is a bit rusty, or you feel the need to hit a few before your round of golf, please visit the practice area and driving range. Included are two putting greens, a chipping green with a bunker, and an all grass hitting area. The General Old Golf Course provides top quality Taylor Made range balls for your practice. You can get a large bucket, approximately 80 balls, for $8.00, or a small bucket, about 40, for $4.00. If you visit the practice area on a regular basis, you can buy prepaid cards and save.
