THE COURSE

The courses at El Prado, designed by architects Harry and David Rainville are known as “Butterfield Stage” and “Chino Creek”. These two 18 hole courses, named after the journey taken by first Californians, are championship quality. The names pay homage to the stage coach journey from St. Louis to California.

Both courses boast a par of 72 and feature a wide range of obstacles. Wildlife, such as ducks, eagles and even an occasional coyote can often be seen in the surrounding hills. The course is also easily walked.

Both courses feature four holes with a par of 3, ten par 4 holes and four par 5 holes. Chino Creek spans 6,850 yards. Butterfield Stage is 6,568 yards.

THE COURSE

Ted Robinson may have designed over 160 courses but none are closer to the Long Beach native’s heart than this one. El Dorado park golf course is 6,921 yards and carved out naturally tree-lined landscape. The 18-hole championship course is currently home to the prestigious Long Beach Open. It has also hosted the Queen Mary Open, which is a regular PGA touring event.

This course has a par of 72 and a slope of 126. It is rated at a 70.6. The course has four par 3 holes, 10 par 4 holes and four par 5 holes. It features lovely Kikuyu fairways and Poa Annua greens plus a variety of challenges for the novice and the experienced golfer alike.

Just outside the Olympic Training facility in Chula Vista sits the much sought after Eastlake Country Club. Gary Roger Baird, of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, designed and built the lovely Eagle Glen Golf Course. This course is 6,930 yards long and has a par of 72. It is rated at a 73.0 and has a slope of 129.

This course is sure to please every golfer. The front nine requires targeted skills and a lot of technical ability. The back nine brings in the natural beauty of the surroundings and natural waterways. Hole 12, thought by many to be one of the toughest par 5 holes in the state, is among the favorites of this course. The course has a total of four par 3 holes, 10 par 4 holes and four par 5 holes.

Diamond Bar Golf Course has a full service Pro Shop. They strive to offer the top name brands of all the golf equipment and accessories you need. From Taylor Made to the Big Bertha, Tommy Armour, Ping and others, you are sure to find the drivers you need. They also carry Ping Hoofer golf bags, Footjoy shoes and more. The knowledgable staff can help you fit your clubs and can also perform other services like regripping in a matter of hours.

Restaurant and Banquet Hall

Hungry after a hard day on the golf course? Diamond Bar has you covered. The snack bar and coffee shop offer over 40 menu items to please even the pickiest eaters. Free wifi is offered at both locations.

If you are planning a wedding, Bar Mitzvah, Anniversary party, corporate event or any other get together, Diamond Bar Golf Course has just the space for you. The 5,000-square-foot Diamond View room seats 260 guests and is perfect for wedding receptions and other large events. The smaller, Diamond Center Room seats up to 60 and works well for smaller events.

For your wedding, Diamond Bar Golf Course offers a private bridal suite and an outdoor ceremony venue at the beautiful Gazebo Garden. Executive Chef John Flores has created a tantalizing menu of 45 items, but will also develop specialty items for your event. They also offer floral arrangements, ice sculptures and other amenities. They strive to work within any budget to create the event of your dreams.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Diamond Bar Golf Course’s extensive practice facility provides the optimal setting for perfecting every aspect of your game in a controlled and focused environment. Hone your swing at their full-size driving range. They have a series of target greens at distances ranging from 75–250 yards. You can also sharpen your short game the putting and chipping greens.

If you need more assistance, Diamond Bar Golf Course has several PGA certified instructors available for individual and group lessons. Anthony Wang oversees the program and customizes the instruction based on the needs of the individual. From golf fundamentals and fine-tuning to on-course instruction in strategy and shot selection, they can provide it all.

THE COURSES

Diablo Grande is tucked in the scenic hills of Northern California. It is situated 10 miles off I-5 near Patterson, California. With nearly 15,000 yards, this course features a full 36 holes divided into two 18-hole courses.

The first course is known as the Ranch course. This 7,243 yard course features a par of 72. This includes the signature 12th hole known as “The Mustang.” This 650 yard par 5 hole was almost named California’s first par 6.

This course was designed by the award-winning golf course architect Denis Griffiths and opened in 1996. It incorporates a combination of dramatic elevation changes and the natural contours of the land with the beauty of the surrounding scenic terrain. The Ranch Course at Diablo Grande was recently rated one of the top courses in the nation by Golf Digest.

The second course is the Legends Course. This is also a par 72 course. It spans 7,112 yards. It was co-designed by golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Gene Sarazen and opened in 1998. It has received multiple awards, including sixth place in the best new private golf Course category in Golf Digest.

In preparation for your visit, the website features a hole by hole flyover as well as a map and scorecard. You can also learn about tournaments and the different types of membership available. After your visit, be sure to return to the website and fill out the guest satisfaction survey.

Pro Shop

The Pro shop at Diablo Grande carries a complete selection of golfing equipment and fine apparel. They feature such brand names as Greg Norman, Nike, Adidas, Cutter & Buck, Under Armour and many more. For the ladies, Diablo Grande carries top brands like, EP Pro, Greg Norman and Nike. A wide array of unique gifts and accessories are also available.

The Pro shop has limited hours. The Ranch course shop is closed Tuesday through Friday. The Legends course shop is closed on Monday. On days that they are open, hours vary based on the season. Winter hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Summer hours are 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Restaurant

Unlike many golf courses, the Diablo Grande has a full service, gourmet restaurant. The Sunset Lounge features the cuisine of Chef Kirk Doyle. The combination of food and atmosphere captures the rustic elegance that defines Northern California.

The restaurant serves a full lunch and dinner menu daily. On the weekend, they prepare a full service breakfast. During the week, a grab and go menu of breakfast sandwiches, muffins and other options are available for golfers. The Sunset Lounge also offers an extensive wine list, full bar and elegent wine list.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Diablo Grande is pleased to offer a fully renovated driving range and practice area. The area is equipped with a synthetic tee line and target greens, surrounded by bunkers allow golfers to practice all year long. If more help is needed, lessons, provided by PGA certified instructors are also available.

THE COURSE

Desert Willows Golf Resort provides two of the Coachella Valley’s best courses. There are natural and water hazards on the Firecliff course that will make your game more challenging. There is also the Mountain View course that is an easier and more relaxing course to play. The course’s are surrounded by incredible views among the Santa Rosa Mountains.

You can book your tee times up to 60 days in advanced, and twilight reservations are not guaranteed to finish all of the 18 holes. The times vary throughout the year, so check the website for up to date rates. The rates below are for April 22 – May 26, 2013.

GOLF SHOP

The shop is open everyday from 5:30 AM until 7:00 PM. You can find all of the latest golf equipment at the Golf Shop at Desert Willow Golf Resort. You can find all of the newest fashion trends and styles of golf apparel, golf shoes, golf clubs, and other merchandise.

The 2,200 square foot Golf Shop has Jamie Saddock and Tommy Bahama name brands for women as well as Fairway & Greene, Polo Golf, and Tommy Bahama for men. If you cannot find an item that you like, the golf shop will order is specifically for you.

The trained professionals will help you find a new set of clubs that are custom fit for you. You can also buy a gift card online in various amounts for your loved ones or friends. The prices of the gift cards available range from $25 to $200. You can order your gift card online or you can call 800-320-3323.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Desert Willows has a Palm Desert Golf Academy that is a World-Class golf instruction facility that can teach you how to make your golf game better. There are PGA certified instructors that will provide all levels of training.

There are private instructions that are customized to meet your individual needs. They use video swing analysis that can help you learn how to play better. There are also specialized lessons in Full Swing, Putting, Short Game, and an On Course playing lesson with a PGA professional.

Desert Willows also offers golf clinics that will focus on golf swing mechanics in a group environment. The clinics focus on a different aspect on different days of the week. The clinics run from late October until the middle of May with a ratio of 5 students per teacher.

You can have your children learn the basics of golf with the Fairway Kids Junior Golf Program. They will learn the proper etiquette of the game while getting to have fun with other children. Desert Willows offers Summer Camps and After-School Programs, to there is always a chance for your children to be able to learn how to play golf.
