THE COURSE

In Tracy California, golfers have long known that Tracy Golf and Country Club is the areas best kept secret. Since its establishment in 1955, players of all abilities have enjoyed the classic feel of a links style course. The narrow, tree lined fairways are accented by water on nine of its 18 holes.

This course, designed by Robert Baldock, features a wide variety of different types of terrain and varying elevation. It is 6,700 yards from the longest tee. The par is 72. It boasts a rating of 72.2 and a slope of 128.

The Clubhouse at Tracy Golf and Country club overlooks the San Joaquin Valley. The beautiful scenery, however, pales in comparison to the creative breakfast and lunch specials offered daily. The chef works with several local vendors to offer the freshest foods prepared in ways that will delight. Tuesday through Friday, they are open 8am to 3pm. Saturday and Sunday, they are open 7am to 3pm. They are closed on Mondays.

Practice Facilities

If you need to take a few swings off your handicap, the practice facility at Tracy Golf and Country Club has just the thing. They offer a full grass driving range with a variety of target greens to help you work on your long game. THE COURSE

Westin Mission Hills features two championship Troon style courses. With a variety of both man made and natural obstacles, it is truly a treasure. In fact, Golf Digest listed it as one of the top 75 golf resorts in North America.

The first course, designed by Peter Dye. The beautiful scenery and sharp elevation changes make this, the shorter of the two courses, a favorite of many golfers. has a par of 70.

The second course, known as the Gary Player Signature Course, has been called difficult, well-designed and joyful. Others have said it may be the best golf course in the Palm Springs area. THE COURSE

The Country Club at Soboba Springs offers a truly professional experience. Voted Inland Empire Magazine’s Best Places to Play for 2008, this course is a premier course in the state of California. It isn’t uncommon to find PGA golfers working on their game at Soboba Springs.

This course features a par of 72. It is 7,101 yards to the longest tee. The rating is a 73.8 and the slope is a 131.
