Mission Trails Golf Course is situated below Cowles Mountain and travels along the shores of Lake Murray. Mission Trails Golf Course is most famous for hosting a young Tiger Woods as he began his fame by winning the Optimist Junior World Championship.

Designed by legendary William Bell, this course has a unique blend of scenery and challenges. Natural and manmade obstacles riddle the course causing even the most experienced golfers to think twice. Mission Trails Golf Course is 5,840 yards to the longest tee and has a par of 71. The rating is 68.8 and the slope is 118.

The Micke Grove Golf Links is a links style course of large bent grass greens. Contained on this course is eight lakes and 42 sand bunkers. THE COURSE

Located on a former Air Force base, Mather Golf Course provides picturesque tree lined fairways and luscious greens. Designed to test your long game, Mather Golf Course continues to attract golfers of all skill levels year after year.

You start off the day with a short par four that offers a few obstacles to test your accuracy. Hole number three is a wide open shot if you can keep it between the two soft bunkers. At the end of the front 9, there is a beverage cart waiting to refresh you as you turn to continue the course. The difficult hole 11 throws every obstacle possible at you. Of these obstacles is a beautiful lake in the middle of the fairway, so watch out! Hole 12 offers a forgiving par 5 and an opportunity to get some strokes back. And finally hole 13, the signature hole, is a total 285 yards from the longest tee, and a par four. If you get an accurate shot, one long drive should do it. If not, you’re in trouble. And finally hole number 18 is a tricky short hole, making sure your skill is as good at hole one as hole 18.

Mather Golf course has a total of 6,686 yards from the longest tees and a par of 72. The rating of this course is 71.7 and finally the slope is 121.

THE COURSE

Marshall Canyon is one of several Los Angeles County golf courses. Marshall Canyon is a course that challenges players of all golfing abilities. On this course, you are sure to find what you want here.

Built in 1966, Marshall Canyon golf course is designed to work on your short game. With 18 holes and a total of 6,110 yards, Marshall Canyon is easily walkable. The Par 71 and 120 slope isn’t able to tell the whole story of this course. This course, known by some as the putter’s dream, forces the golfer to depend on their putting and chipping skills. Players will encounter several elevated tees, blind shots, drastic dog legs and more. This is a course you will want to play again and again.

If you need to upgrade your equipment, the pro shop is one place you absolutely must stop. They carry a wide variety of all your favorite brand names and prices you will be in awe of. Even if you just want to talk golf and ask for some tips on the course and its conditions, feel free to ask. The caring staff will always be willing to help.

Restaurants

Great Dogs Clubhouse, the restaurant at Marshall Canyon has just that, the greatest hot dogs in town. In addition to great hot dogs Great dogs also offers a variety of stadium type food. If you are thirsty, Great Dogs also offers a variety of soft drinks, teas and other favorites. A full bar with beer, wine and other alcohol beverages is also available for your enjoyment.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If you want to take a few swings off your handicap, the practice facility is the perfect place for you. A full grass driving range is the perfect place to work on your long game. Before you take on Marshall Canyon, the large putting greens and chipping greens will help you to improve your short game and ensure your success. Buckets of balls are available from the pro shop.

THE COURSE

The Marine Memorial Golf Course, located in Camp Pendleton, is a course that truly pays homage to those men and women in the armed forces. Created to provide recreational activities for those Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton, this course is sure to challenge you both mentally and physically.

Designed by the legendary William P. Bell, the Marine Memorial Golf Course opened in 1948. The 18 hole course is 6,711 yards to the longest tee and has a par of 72. The rating is a 72.3 and the slope is a 127. Several of the holes are famous for their use of water. The course is lined by mature trees. Whether you are a soldier, sailor, airman, marine, this course will leave you proud to serve. Civilians will leave with a better respect for our proud men and women.

Marine Memorial has a fully stocked pro shop designed with the military golfer in mind. The helpful staff is always willing to help you find what you need. If they don’t have it, they can order it. Located on a military base, Marine Memorial Golf Course has access to a vast number of restaraunts. These include, but are not limited to, many different types of burgers, donuts, Asian and American inspired cuisine. If you are thirsty, coffee, soft drinks and beer can also be purchased. You are sure to find exactly what you are craving at Marine Memorial Golf Course.
