THE COURSE

Indian Canyon golf course is located in the foothills of Riverside County. It was designed by famed Golf architech William F. Bell and recently renovated by Jimmy Powell and Howard Heers. The course offers dramatic elevation changes, spectacular views and an overwhelmingly peaceful experience. It is known for the unique design which has no parallel fairways.

This course sports a par of 70. It is 6,104 yards to the longest tee and it has a slope of 129. The rating is also a 70. Hole 9, a 451 par 5, is said by many to be the toughest hole on this course.

THE COURSE

Indian Palms golf course is the center of the resort. With a total of 27 holes, it presents a unique experience. The three 9-hole courses provide golfers with tests on their accuracy instead of their distance. Each course is uniquely designed, creating a unique challenge to golfers of every level. Bunkers are placed strategically throughout and water comes into play on 15 of the 27 holes. Any two of the nine hole courses can be combined to make one 18 hole course.

The first course, known as “The Mountain” features dramatic elevation changes and wide open fairways. The 3,361 yard course boasts a par of 36. This course includes Indian Palms’ signature hole. The 301 yard par 4 5th Hole features their island green.

The Royal course has hundreds of mature trees lining its fairways. It works within its surroundings to create an experience that isn’t soon forgotten. It is a 3,352 yard course with a par of 36.

The Indian Course is different than the other two. It has more water and a variety of obstacles. This course is best paired with the Mountain. It has a par of 36 and is 3,348 yards to the longest tee.

THE COURSE

Indian Canyons Golf resort is made up of not one but two full size, championship quality golf courses. It was formerly a private club known as Canyon Country club but today, its doors are open to the masses. You can walk on the same fairways as such names as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Jackie Gleason. Several former presidents also played these courses.

The first course designed by William F. Bell, Jr. is a classic course. This course is surrounded on three sides by the San Jacinto Mountains making it a wind free experience and the favorite of many golfers. The water hazard between the ninth and 18th holes contains the famed “Disney Fountain” which was donated by Walt Disney himself on the club’s opening.

The second, designed by Casey O’Callahan with the help of player consultant and LPGA legend Amy Alcott is more of a modern course and a favorite of female golfers. The course has over 800 palm trees, 500 Washingtonia Filifera and 4 ponds. Players will enjoy the elevation changes celebrated throughout this course. Also, players will be challenged by the five par 5 holes contained therein.

The North Course is 6,943 yards to the longest tee and has a par of 72. The rating is a 72.9 and the slope is a 127. The South Course is 6,582 yards long, making it the shorter of the two. It also has a par of 72. The rating is 70.4 and the slope is 118.

THE COURSE

The property on which Hidden Valley Golf Course is seated is beyond lovely. The course works to preserve that beauty. From dry stream beds to boulder outcroppings, this is one of the most breath-taking golf experiences in Southern California. The golfer is challenged to carry their ball over canyons and ravines around the whole of this course.

This 6,860 yard course has a par of 72 but that doesn’t tell the whole story. The slope is an impressive 141 and the rating is a 73.8. Their signature hole, known as “Red Tail Launch”, is the 15th. With dramatic elevation changes and jutting rock formations, this is an awe-inspiring hole. Another cool feature of this course is the wildlife that often cross the fairways and greens.

Hesperia golf and country club is a semi-private club in the high desert region of California. This course, a former stop on the PGA tour, is lined with trees and offers players luxurious fairways and classic holes to conquer. It was designed by famed golf architect William F. This 6,996 yard course has a par of 72 and a rating of 73.3. The slope is rated at 131. A record score of 62 was set by Gene Littler. This course holds many unique challenges for every golfer. Heritage Palms is a semi-private golf course located in Indio California. It was designed by Arthur Mills and opened in 1996. The immaculately kept greens and amazing scenery add up to a fantastic experience.

This 6,727 yard course has a par of 72. It features a slope of 119 and a rating of 71.4. Each of the 18 holes has a unique challenge. The course has many out-of-bounds areas and water hazards so extra balls are a must. The fourth, seventh and 17th holes provide unique challenges for even the best golfers. The course has several lakes, green bunkers and other obstacles.

William F. Bell, designer of over 160 golf courses nationwide, conceptualized and brought to life this amazing course in 1962. Since then, it has been the pride of the area and a favorite of golfers who need to get in a quick game between engagements. The course is fully lit allowing golfers to play from before sunrise until well after sunset.

The course may be small, at only 2,143 yards, but it is also mighty. It sports a par of 54 and a rating of 50.1. The slope is a 90. It features a sand bunker and water hazards on the 14th and 18th holes.

The Well Café

The Well Café offers much more than a typical snack bar. It has a full menu of hot and cold dishes and a full bar. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cold beer after a hot round of golf.

If you have an event to plan, The Well Café is just the place. They can seat up to 100 guests and can be rearranged as needed. Regardless of whether you have a wedding, a seminar or a charity event, contact the staff. They are able to work within your budget to create the magic you’ve always wanted.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If you’d like to take a few swings off your handicap, visit the practice facility. They feature a 35 lane, fully lit driving range with downhill target greens. They also have two putting greens with separate chipping greens and practice bunkers. Buckets of balls start at $4 and are available from the pro shop.

If more instruction is needed, private and group lessons, taught by seasoned teaching professionals, including Head PGA Professional, Dennis Wright, are available. THE COURSE

TPC Harding Park is a municipal golf course located in San Francisco. It was named after former president and avid golfer Warren G. Harding. The course was designed and built by master architect Willie Watson of Olympic Club fame before it opened in 1925. Since then, it has frequently hosted PGA tours. It was fully renovated in 2000. In 2010, it was added to the list of clubs that host PGA tours known as TPC or The Players Championship clubs.

The course is lined with cypress trees and set against the backdrop of Lake Merced. It features soft bunkers and well-manicured fairways. The course is constantly maintained in the championship quality players have grown to love.

This course spans 7,169 yards. It features a par of 73 with a rating of 73.1. The slope is a 125. The signature hole is the 18th. With a par of 5 and a handicap of 2, this hole has a loud bark and an even bigger bite. Avoid the bunker in the fairway to finish your day off right. Holes four, six, eight, 11 and 12 also provide special challenges.

GREEN FEES

Book your tee time today to experience this championship course. Tee times can be booked online, by phone or in person. Advanced reservations can be made up to seven days prior through the website. Players can reserve tee times up to 30 days in advance by phone. Advanced reservations are not taken for singles.

Friday tee times are charged at weekday rates until noon then transition to weekend rates. Cart is included in the standard rate but the course is cart path only. Discounts are available for those in the Bay Area counties and those currently residing in San Francisco.

Cypress Grill

The Cypress Grill is just as, or perhaps more, exceptional than the other parts of the Harding Park experience. With a daily menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner fare plus a full bar, they have something for everyone. The restaurant also offers unlimited free wifi and two jumbo flat screen TVs. PRACTICE FACILITY

The practice facility at Harding Park is the perfect place to take a few swings off your handicap. They feature an all-weather facility with a driving range and separate putting and chipping greens. Buckets of balls start at $7 from the pro shop.

THE COURSE

Famed golf architect William F. Bell designed and built this 9 hole course in 1958. In 1994, it received a complete renovation. Located in the Los Angeles harbor area of Wilmington, California, this course features the beautiful sites of the area. It is a great course for squeezing a quick round of golf into an otherwise bust week.

At only 3,148 yards, this a course that is easily walked. It has a par of 36 and a rating of 69.8. It is considered one of the most used 9 hole courses in the country.

Before your visit, be sure to check out the website. There, you can view and print a copy of the scorecard, check out the course layout and view course rules. You can also sign up for a membership.

GREEN FEES

To experience this hidden gem, book your tee time today. Tee times can be booked online, by phone or in person. Nonmembers can book tee times eight days in advance. Members can book up to 16 days in advance. All players under the age of 14 must be certified by a city course manager prior to playing.

Restaurant

If a game of golf has left you hungry or in need of a cold beer, the restaurant has just the thing. The wide variety of sandwiches, hot dogs and other, Hawaiian-style fare, will leave you speechless. They also sport a full bar and a patio that overlooks the course.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Many small courses do not have a driving range or other practice facilities. Thankfully, Harbor Park is equipped with a state of the art driving range and putting greens. The practice area is located a short drive from the main course and buckets of balls are available for purchase.

Tregnan School

For young people with little experience, the city of Los Angeles and Harbor Park golf course is pleased to offer the Tregnan Golf Academy. This school reaches out to urban families and offers children, ages five to 17, a chance to learn the game of golf and improve their golf game. This school also offers a variety of other programs including family golf, seminars and junior tournaments. Participants in this program get reduced golf fees at all Southern California public golf courses.

The Tregnan Golf Academy is entirely funded by grants. They are constantly looking for corporate sponsors, volunteers and others to help. Donations of golf equipment are always accepted. To help, call the course.
