THE COURSE

Haggin Oaks Golf Complex is made up of not one but two full size, championship quality golf courses. This 75 year old course has stood the test of time as offering both friendly courses that entice beginning golfers into a lifetime love of the game and conversely challenging courses that keep the pros coming back again and again. It’s no wonder that big names in the golf world like Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen as well as big names in Hollywood like Bing Crosby, Babe Ruth and even Bob Hope have all frequented this course. Now it is your turn to experience the luxury of Haggin Oaks as they did.

The first course, Arcade Creek, is designed with the beginning golfer in mind. The course is a relatively flat and has the option to play the front nine or the entire 18 holes, making it appealing for both beginners and walkers alike. The beautiful Arcade Creek runs through this tranquil course surrounded by lush greens and lined with heritage oaks giving the golfer and peaceful escape from the concrete jungle.

The second course, designed by world renowned architect Alister MacKenzie, is for the more advanced golfer. At first glance this course may seem small and tame by today’s standards, with little water and no fairway bunkers, but don’t let that fool you. The greens are so heavily bunkered they require shots to be precise in order to gain the best score. This is especially true of the signature par three number 16. This hole is shadowed by a impressive oak on the right side and Arcade Creek is on the left and back of the green. Hole 17 is just as daunting. As they say with great risk comes great reward. Those who have completed this challenging course have said bringing it home on 18 is like bringing it home on the PGA tour.

The good folks at Haggin Oaks an award winning pro shop to meet your needs. They have Nike and Adidas concept clothing shops, a 1000 square foot putting great and two full size trees surrounded by 700 putters, and a 1929 Ford Model T truck turned into a golf ball display! In addition to all of this, the store also has the usual pro shop amenities. If you can’t find what you’re looking for ask one of the helpful staffers. If they can’t find it, which is unlikely considering the store, they will order it for you.

Restaurants

Haggin Oaks is home to MacKenzie’s Sports Bar and Grill. The fare is fresh and reminiscent of homemade food from a simpler time. The décor celebrates Haggin Oaks’ rich 75 year history. They serve a full breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a full bar.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If you want to take a few swings off your handicap, the practice facility is the perfect place for you. Haggin Oaks’ driving range is open 22 hours a day. They have 100 stalls and the all new Power Tee Self-Teeing System. Simply dump your bucket of balls into the receiver and as needed a new ball will pop up and you’re ready to go. The club offers Titleist and Cobra club fitting by a PGA certified Titleist/Cobra club fitting specialist. Using state of the art computer software, the customer’s swing is analyzed. Restaurants

Green River Golf Club’s Pub & Grille has the atmosphere of a sports bar. They offer wings, burgers, Caesar salads, sandwiches, and much more. Several big screen TVs show games and other events. The Golf Club at Terra Lago was host of the 1999-2002 PGA Tour Skins Game. THE COURSE

The Ford Park golf course in Bell Gardens is a 9 hole golf course designed for a quick and easy game. It is said by many to be a confidence builder and a perfect place to take children. The course is set on the banks of a river and surrounded by parks and plant nursery. Cold water is available between holes.

Designed and built in 1976, this course has long been a favorite in the Bell Garden’s area. It pairs the serenity of the area with an easy, relaxing course. Architect William F. Bell designed and built the golf course currently known as Fullerton Golf Course in 1970. This course is set in a beautiful valley and features a wide range of elevation changes as it meanders along the banks of Brea creek. Shaded by trees, this course offers a majestic viewing experience for all golfers.

At only 5,159 yards, this course is small but mighty. The first three holes are among the most challenging in Orange County. On 12 different holes, Brea Creek comes into play. The fairways are narrow and errant shots can get a golfer into much trouble but great shots are very rewarding. A good score on this course is a sign of much skill.

Pro Shop

If your clubs are in need of an upgrade or you need apparel, accessories or gifts, check out the pro shop at Fallbrook golf course. The helpful and knowledgeable staff are ready to help you. Staff will also help you sign up for membership, book tee times and much more.

Restaurants

Fallbrook golf course has a total of three restaurants to suit all of your needs. The Hukilau restaurant serves a variety of casual foods. If you are looking for fresh, local ingredients, this is the place for you. In addition to a full indoor dining area, they also offer an outdoor patio.

The second restaurant at Fallbrook golf course is the Huki Lounge. The Huki lounge carries a large variety of local wine and has more than 16 beers on tap. They offer the same menu as the Hukilau restaurant. Enjoy a daily happy hour special on the patio which overlooks the driving range and putting greens.

The final restaurant is the the Palapa. This restaurant serves a variety of Mexican foods. Grab a taco, burrito or a quick drink between holes. Cart service is also available.

PRACTICE FACILITY

If you’d like to take a few swings off your handicap, visit the practice facility. Fallbrook Golf Course has a full grass driving range, putting and chipping greens and a practice bunker. If more help is needed, lessons are also offered.

THE COURSE

If you are a new golfer or just someone who wants to improve your short game, Bing Maloney has just the thing for you. This course is also great for people that need to squeeze a game of golf into their otherwise busy life. Although, at only 2,714 yards, it is an extremely short course, the Express Nine at Bing Maloney holds many challenges.

This course, nestled within the mighty oaks of Sacramento, sports a par of 29, a rating of 35 and a slope of 113. It is designed to be easily walked and played in roughly one hour. It features seven par 3 holes and two par 4 holes.

GREEN FEES

Book your tee time today to experience this beautiful course at a great price. Cart fees are not included in the rate as this course is designed to be walked. To rent a cart, it costs eight dollars for the each rider. Push carts are also available.

Golf Shop

The golf shop at Bing Maloney features the lowest prices in golf. Beyond that, they offer daily specials and sales. If you need new equipment, this should be your first stop. They carry all the name brands at rock bottom prices.

The low prices extend to their clubs. Drivers and fairway woods are $39.99 or less and full sets of clubs, including a golf bag start at $199.99 or less. All clubs can be tested in the driving range.

Maloney’s Grille

Bing Maloney prides itself on the way that guests are treated. That passion extends to the dining experience at Maloney’s grille. Recently, the clubhouse underwent a full makeover. They now feature several flat screen TVs.

The menu at Maloney’s Grille is as memorable as everything else at the course. They are known for their massive 1/3 pound hamburgers and Philly cheese steak. They also have the best breakfast burrito in the state. A full menu is available on the website. Impressive daily specials, including their famous avocado and salsa burger, a full bar and a beautiful covered patio make this a mandatory stop after your golf game.

PRACTICE FACILITY

The practice facility at Bing Maloney is the perfect place to take a few swings off your game. They feature a forty lane, night-lighted driving range with the best hitting mats in Sacramento. They also have a large putting green and a short game area where you can work on your pitching and chipping skills.

If more instruction is needed, Bing Maloney offers a series of step by step classes as well as clinics and private lessons. The learning process begins with the basics, proceeds through the necessary skills to on course instruction and finally advanced golf skills. THE COURSE

Designed by Henry and David Rainville, Escondido Country Club opened in 1965. It features beautiful fairways, natural lakes and challenging sand bunkers. Golfer of all levels will enjoy this course.

Escondido Country Club features a 6,140 yard course with a par of 70 and a rating of 69.3. The slope is 125. It boasts five par 3 holes, 10 par 4 holes and three par 5 holes. It has restrooms located throughout the course as well as cart service.

Before your visit, check out the website. It features a scorecard that you can view and print as well as the rules and etiquette observances that need to be followed on the course. You can also learn about the membership rates and opportunities. An email club sign up is also available.

GREEN FEES

To enjoy the beauty of Escondido Country Club, book your tee time today. Tee times can be booked online or by phone up to seven days in advance. Tee times can also be booked in person at the pro shop.

When playing, the proper golf attire is required. This means that men must wear sleeves and collars. Women must have either sleeves or collars. It also means no denim of any kind and no t-shirts, tank tops or sweatshirts. Shorts must be knee length. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. This dresscode is strictly enforced.
