THE COURSE

Arroyo Seco is the perfect course to work on your short game, and it has 2,009 yards of course. It has long tees and a par of 54. The course has a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The greens are well maintained, and they are lined with sycamores, palms, and magnolias. There is a creek that runs through the course and a pond that are spectacular to look at, but it adds to the obstacles that you need to watch out for. While golfing, you have a nice chance of seeing the parrots that live on and around the golf course.

GOLF CAMPS

The Arroyo Seco Golf Course offers a summer camp for golfers between 7 and 14 years of age. The program teaches children the proper way to play a wonderful game of golf. They will be taught the fundamentals so they can develop the skills that they need to play a great game of golf.

There are different lessons that are taught during the course of the camp. The children will learn about the history of the game, as well as how to stay safe while playing golf. They will be taught how to grip, set-up, the proper posture, and full swings.

Summer camp runs for nine weeks during the summer starting on June 10th. The camp is open Monday – Friday from 8:30AM to 11:30AM. It costs $195.00 per week to join the summer camp. There are three weeks of courses from June 10 – June 28, three weeks from July 8 – July 26, and three weeks from August 5 – August 23.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Arroyo Seco Golf Course has a lot of lessons to help any level of player. There are group lessons and private lessons available. You can also practice your game on the driving range whenever you have some free time available. The lessons address common golf problems including golf slice, correct golf grip, improving putting, learning to chip, and overcoming bunkers.

There are private lessons available for all levels of players. Beginners can learn the basics of the game from the experienced instructors. The instructors will teach the basics including the proper way to hold the golf club and how to set up your shots. Intermediate players can learn consistency and will teach you how to correct your problem areas. Advanced players can learn how to keep consistency in the game under all types of weather conditions.

Group lessons can help you learn the game while getting to know other players. Groups range from six to 12 players. The lessons are one hour long and are offered to beginner and intermediate players.

Arroyo Seco also offers a special clinic where intermediate players can learn how to play a short game. The instructors will teach you proper chipping, putting, pitching, and sand play. These clinics are offered one hour a week for four weeks.

Designed by Don Reiners, Antelope Grees Golf Course is an excellent choice for both skilled and novice players alike. Originally a nine hole course, it has been expanded to an 18 hole executive length par 58 that can be completed in roughly 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Even though Antelope Greens Golf Course has a distance of around 3,100 yards from the back tees, do not let this fool you into thinking this will be an easy course. The holes range from 77-355 yards and have enough hazards (such as an island green, sand traps, trees and water) to keep you on your toes. PRACTICE FACILITY

The 300+ yard practice range is open daily from 7:30AM through 5:30PM except for Wednesdays when it closes at noon for maintenance. Mats are available on weekdays and turf is available on weekends. Spread out around the base of the hills on the western edge of Angeles National Forest, Angeles National Golf Course is a great choice for a relaxing morning or afternoon filled with challenging golf. The only Nicklaus Group designed golf course in the Los Angeles area, the course can be reached in less than 30 minutes from downtown L.A. with easy access to the 210 Freeway. THE COURSE

Legendary Golf Course Architect William Francis Bell was an extremely talented golf designer who built nearly 200 golf courses in his lifetime. He designed the serene and challenging Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in 1965 for the Sacramento County, at a time most of his work was concentrated in the Sacramento area. EPGA GOLF ACADEMY

Eric Pollard Golf Academy at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course has been catering to players since 2001. They are a top flight instructional program that attracts juniors, amateurs and professionals from all over the region. The three golf pros can meet your specific needs, including lessons or on-going training, fitness, and club-fitting.

Looking to warm up a bit, or put in some practice to take a stroke or two off your putting? The Merle Priddy Memorial grass driving range is located next to the American River in Ancil Hoffman Park.  Two large putting and chipping greens located next to The Main Event Bar & Grill patio.

THE MAIN EVENT BAR AND GRILL

Ancil Hoffman, in addition to being a member of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sacramento, played an important role in the sport of boxing in the U.S.  For many years, prior to his time as a county supervisor, Ancil Hoffman was the manager and trainer of renowned heavyweight champion Max Baer. The Main Event commemorates his involvement by displaying photos and memorabilia donated by the Hoffman family.

The Main Event, in addition to providing delectable cuisine for tournaments, provides a host of local favorites on their hearty menu for both breakfast and lunch. The Menu can be accessed at the Ancil Hoffman Golf Course site.

The tree lined fairways offer golfers an escape from reality while the par 71 course offers a variety of unique challenges. Anaheim Hills Golf Course prides itself on unique obstacles. They feature the Old growth Sycamore on the tenth hole and a dog-legged right on the twelfth.

Club House

Anaheim Hills is famous for their clubhouse. The 30,000-square-foot Spanish Mediterranean style building features a breath-taking view of the emerald fairways and deep blue skies. It is known throughout Southern California as the premier upscale wedding, reception, banquet, tournament and corporate function venue.

The Anaheim Hills clubhouse is open 365 days a year. They can accommodate parties ranging in size from 10 to 400. They feature a grill, sports bar and other amenities.

If you are looking to just get away for a bit, the clubhouse can do that as well. They offer a variety of events throughout the year including a champagne jazz brunch every Sunday and breakfast and lunch specials daily.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Want to take a few strokes off your handicap? Anaheim Hills has just the thing. The practice facilities are open daily from sunrise to sunset with two exceptions. On Wednesday, they close two hours before sunset and on Thursday, they open one hour after Sunrise.

The practice range features a double-decker teeing area. This allows for all-weather practice. Pricing ranges from 3 dollars for 25 balls to 10 dollars for 100 balls. Reusable discount cards are also available.

If more assistance is needed, professional golf lessons are also offered. Private lessons with video analysis can make all the difference in your game. Special classes designed for beginners-only and juniors are also available.

Other class offerings include corporate clinics. Anaheim Hills is also known for their tournament video swing analysis. The most popular offering, however, is a one-day golf school that includes range instruction and 18 holes of golf with the instructor.

THE COURSE

Opened in 1947, the Alondra Park Golf Course complex consists of 36 holes. With one 18-hole golf course and another 18-hole par three, it is a great course for those golfers in search of a challenge or to brush up on their game. Large trees and scenic greens characterize the regular course. Not to mention, level ground and wide fairways to accommodate players. The par three, on the other hand, is equipped with small greens and short holes. It’s a lovely gem inside of Lawndale, California.

While Alondra Park has no website, you can reserve tee time by phone at least seven days in advance. In addition, there are men and women’s Golf Club Memberships for their patrons’ enjoyment. Not only does it offer a great course, but the complex also features a pro shop, banquet room and coffee shop. Spacious parking is also available at your convenience.
