THE COURSE
Cherry Island Golf Course has 18 holes and a par of 72. The course is open to the public and has almost 6,000 yards of course. The course is named for the cherry orchards that used to occupy the land. Cherry Island is owned by the county of Sacramento and has been open since June 1, 1990.

GREEN FEES
You can book your tee times online or by calling the golf course at (916) 991-7293. You can find the Holidays that the course recognizes by visiting the website. Holidays use the same rates as weekends. Junior rates are available after 12:00 PM. You can book your tee times up to eight days in advance starting at 12:00 noon. Cart fees are not included, but you can rent one for $15 for use on 18 holes or $11 for use on 9 holes.

AMENITIES
Cherry Island Golf Course has a Golf Shop that compliments the course. The store has a large quantity of apparel and golf equipment for all of your golfing needs. You can find Nike, Taylormade, Cleveland, Mizuno, Sun Mountain, Ping, and other brand names in the store. The staff at the shop can also repair your damaged golf clubs for you.
The Cherry Island Bar and Grill has breakfast and lunch menus. The Grill is open from 9:30 until 3:00 during the week and 7:00 to 3:00 on the weekends. There is also a restaurant that is open from 7:00 to dusk during the week and from the first tee time until dusk on the weekends. Some items on the limited menu include burgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. You can also choose a fresh deli sandwich or wrap or chicken strips. For breakfast, you can enjoy an egg muffin sandwich, a breakfast burrito, or two eggs cooked the way you want them.
PRACTICE FACILITY
You can practice your techniques at the different practice areas at Cherry Island Golf Course. You can practice your short shots on one of two of the putting greens. There is also a large driving range where you can practice your longer shots. You have the option to practice on the artificial or the natural turf tees.
You can purchase golf balls to use on the driving range. You can get a small bucket of 45 balls for $4.75. A large bucket of 90 balls costs $9.00. If you want to practice for a while, a jumbo bucket is the perfect choice. You can get 180 balls for $16.00. If you purchase a range saver card, you can save on small buckets and receive a $5 discount on twilight green fees.
