THE COURSE
The courses at El Prado, designed by architects Harry and David Rainville are known as “Butterfield Stage” and “Chino Creek”. These two 18 hole courses, named after the journey taken by first Californians, are championship quality. The names pay homage to the stage coach journey from St. Louis to California.
Both courses boast a par of 72 and feature a wide range of obstacles. Wildlife, such as ducks, eagles and even an occasional coyote can often be seen in the surrounding hills. The course is also easily walked.
Both courses feature four holes with a par of 3, ten par 4 holes and four par 5 holes. Chino Creek spans 6,850 yards. Butterfield Stage is 6,568 yards.
In preparation for your visit, the website features a variety of helpful tips. You can also download the score cards, view daily and weekly specials, join the email club and much more. Course conditions are regularly updated on the superintendent’s blog. iPhone users can also download a user friendly El Prado app.
